The definitive document on Identity Management (IdM) and Role Based Access Control

This guidance note was produced collaboratively over a period of one year by a group of 42 IT practitioners working, during this time, for 26 UK and global corporations. The Identity Management Guidance Note is the first non-vendor document on Identity Management since 2004.

  • Encapsulates the vision and scope of IdM
  • Shows how IdM can simplify the provisioning and attestation processes within an organisation
  • Illustrates what parts of the organisation need to be involved
  • Assists the planning process
  • Provides guidelines for implementing IdM successfully.

At the point at which the Guidance Note was conceived, the contributors believed there was no recently produced, publicly available guidance material around Identity Management and Role-Based Access presented from the IT practitioner’s perspective.

Key contributors to this Guidance Note include;

Nick Bleech - IT Security Director, Jim Brady - Group Information Security Architect, Graham Evans - Security Design Lead, Sadie Hanif - SAP Controls Project Manager, Ruth Harris, Global IT Compliance Manager, Roy Harrow - Security Operations Manager, James McNeilly Senior Technical Architect.
