The Information Security Service (tISS) of the Corporate IT Forum was established in 2002 by a group of security officers from within the trusted, subscriber base of large corporate organisations.
The group felt that the security landscape was changing so rapidly, producing threats of unprecedented diversity and magnitude, that a collaborative approach to prevention and management was essential.
Today, the strictly controlled membership consists of 450 security professional representing 130 large corporate organisations with an average turnover of £4.7b, with most operating on a global basis. They share information and collaborate on best practice across the entire spectrum of risk and security issues, confident in the knowledge that their deliberations are conducted in a confidential and trusted environment. The service is unique in being completely free from vendor influence, consultants and analysts ensuring the complete integrity of the intelligence within the knowledge base.
The service has steadily matured to provide a wide range of facilitated workshops, brokered discussions, a secure bulletin board, flash reports, secure QA service, Web-based knowledge centre and a confidential contacts directory of peers from very large organisations.
In practice, this means that member organisations keep ahead of the game, achieve more from their budgets, and learn from each other in developing robust, effective security policies. The agenda is set by members ensuring significant topics are dealt with in a timely manner while addressing strategic issues on a continuing basis.
Information Security is central to the effective governance of all major organisations whether in the public or private sector. Membership of the largest, vendor independent security service will not only ensure your organisation is in-line with current best practice but will enhance its ability to keep ahead of persistent, evolving threats in the future.
